PutnamArts
is a volunteer program dedicated to bringing hands-on
arts opportunities to people living in and/or near Putnam
County, Georgia. PutnamArts
is sponsored by the Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation (EPAF). We rely
on the support of Putnam area individuals, businesses, institutions
and modest class fees for our continuation.
Our focus
is on the types of arts and crafts you can do yourself -- writing,
painting, gardening, acting and soon, many others -- rather than
the kind you watch others do, such as concerts or exhibitions. We
call this participatory arts. EPAF also sponsors a rich calendar
of performance arts throughout the year. See their website, www.epaf.org
for more information about those many opportunities.
We need your
support! If you can teach a class, assist with advertising,
make a financial donation, attend a class or help in other ways,
or if you have suggestions how we can make PutnamArts
even better, please let us hear from you. You can contact us at
artist@putnamarts.com.
PutnamArts
began
in the spring of 2005 assisted by a grant from the Grassroots Program
of the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriation of
the Georgia General Assembly and in partnership with the Madison-Morgan
Cultural Center. Our goal is to continue to grow and thrive, providing
more opportunities to Putnam area residents for self-enrichment
through the arts.
